Suburban Steel Supplies Structural Steel to Support Church Sanctuary

September 18, 2007

Suburban Steel Supply has provided structural steel for the Galena United Methodist Church, located on 2777 Sunbury Road, Galena, Ohio.

Suburban Steel detailed, fabricated and delivered approximately 19 tons of structural steel, including beams and columns, for the new church. The 25,000 square-foot church will feature a worship center, class rooms and a drive-through canopy.

Suburban Steel met the challenge of locating two wide flange beams for the 80-foot wide sanctuary. The company spliced the beams to support the sanctuary and administered a full penetration weld at the spliced area, which passed a mandatory inspection.

Construction on the church began in March 2007, with an expected completion date of February 2008. Suburban Steel collaborated on the project with the erector company, J. Whetmore LLC.
